Volunteer Arts Educators required for International participatory arts project Brazil and Ecuador placements for 2013
The Charlotte Miller Art Project – cmap has been running since 2002 in partnership with ICYE UK (Intercultural Youth exchange UK). Offering creative experiences and a voice through art to street working and living children through workshops and larger scale arts projects. Cmap has been running in the Latin America countries of Ecuador, Brazil and Mexico, through international charities and NGO’s.
Placements are offered on a voluntary basis for artists, arts educators and practitioners from the UK who spend 6 to 12 months in country delivering the programme. Volunteer Arts Educators are sourced and trained in partnership with Icye UK –Intercultural Youth exchange, who works internationally to deliver volunteering placements and exchanges.
If you have a background of working in the arts within education and outreach and have a good working level or desire to learn the Spanish or Portuguese language we would be interested to hear from you.
Volunteer Arts Educators in the past have come from a variety of backgrounds to the project from youth arts leaders, gallery educators, theater practitioners, graphic designers, and filmmakers to participatory photography project leaders.
You need to have creative flare and initiative, the ability to be flexible in potentially volatile situations, be happy to work with vulnerable young people and be highly dedicated and motivated to provide arts education activities.
Volunteer placements are self-fund raised for with support from ICYE UK.
We are recruiting for placements in Ecuador commencing in March 2013 for 8 months and placements in Brazil commencing in April and October 2013 for 6 or 12 months.
